Superboys

DSC01747.jpg
Our boys have quickly caught on to the superhero craze and currently spend the majority of their days pretending to be one figure or another. I never thought that I would be a mother that would buy into this sort of craze but seeing the joy that this pretend play gives Aidan and Abel has changed my mind. I just try to help them to see their individual gifts that may be amazing if accepted and used.

Mark and I decided to purchase batman and superman pajamas for the boys. This gift was intended for them to open on Christmas Eve and to be worn while opening their matching superhero figures the following morning. The boys were elated with the gift and immediately insisted on putting them on. It was past 9 o'clock before they were in bed, and it took them even longer to settle down and rest. Around 10 o'clock I heard lound thumping noises coming from their room which is right above the living room. I went up to check on the boys and found Aidan laying in his bed with a discouraged look on his face. He proceeded to tell me with a somber voice that his batman costume with cape doesn't work. He had been trying to fly off his bed for the past half hour to no avail. Part of the joy of parenting is definitely found in these priceless moments.
