"Duck, Duck, Duck..."

DSC01043_1.jpg

I had every intention of adding a new entry sooner than this, but somewhere in the mix of taking care of a sick Abel (2yrs.), being consistent with Aidan (nearly 4 yrs.), and chasing Oliver (7 months), this good intention was easily forgotten. I have read so many great entries from others on their personal blogs and remain hopeful that I too will have something to say worth reading...but, for now, this remains as just another place to view amazingly adorable children. I suppose that is just where our family is right now. A clear idea could not be had despite great effort and good intentions. If looking into the seemingly sweet faces of our boys and finding joy was not enough, we would be completely overwhelmed by their not so compliant actions and the sheer pace our life. Parenting is just difficult.

Okay--I will have to add something funny so that our childless friends will decide to go ahead and embark on this adventure. Focus on the sweet faces and know that these little guys can bring us to our knees with fatigue and frustration but also show us what it is to love without ceasing and laugh freely as a child again. Aidan particularly seems to come up with sayings and stories that surprise us and lighten the most difficult of moments.

DUCK...That seems to be Aidan's current word of choice. Granted, it could be worse, but how many times can you hear a single word coming from the very amused face of a four-year-old without screaming. One of his good buddies in this Mother's Day Out class taught Aidan that there is none funnier than repeating the word "duck" multiple times a day, adding it to your ABC's, any song, any numbers of times, as loud as possible, being equally amused with the 30th repitition as with the first right until your parent's are about to loose it. After several days of trying to convince Aidan that there are far funnier things to be said and done, we decided that this really is not a problem. Mark and I have since added this little word to our everyday vocabulary and all get a good laugh with him.

Disclaimer

If you are looking for something thought provoking, new exciting ideas to stir you beliefs and occupy your minds, or large words and complex sentences (or just complete sentences for that matter), this may not be the place to find it. Sleep deprived minds and far too busy days leave us with funny quotes from our three little boys and photographs of moments enjoyed together. Come. Look. Enjoy...Any bit of parenting advice or suggestions are also welcomed!
