"ellemino"
***I wanted to say something about the new design of this site. Mark surprised me with it a few weeks ago knowing the colors that I am drawn to and my recent fascination with bird images. I think that it is great! Thanks, Mark!***
Yesterday, Aidan decided to take on the great challenge of writing out the entire alphabet on his chalkboard. We worked through the letters four at a time thinking of words starting with each given letter. We took more time with the "LMNO" sequence, which often jumbled together sounds more like "ellemino." After several tongue tying efforts at separating these letters out, Aidan finally had it. He looked up at me thrilled with his accomplishment and said, "O, Mom! O, like O-MY-GOSH!" Of course the phrase was made much more amusing by the surfer/country accent that he has mastered over the past few months. Resting has turned to chillin', never-mind to what-ever, wow was long replaced with cool, and man comes at the end of most sentences...never a dull moment here.

snow

This morning Amber and I decided to start the day off by grabbing bagels and muffins and heading up Lookout Mtn to find snow. Even though the snowfall was less than expected, it was nice to let the boys enjoy winter by making snowballs and playing in the snow. At bedtime we noticed a mild snowstorm outside the window. All three boys seemed to notice how exciting and beautiful the snow can be as it collects on the cars and floats under the street lamps.

early morning

Usually at around 6:30 each morning I start to hear little feet leaving their beds, turning the squeaky door knob handle, and running across the hall to our room. Soon I have three boys trying to make their own space all around me. Mark, of course, is still snoring while I can barely breathe. It is not that I am complaining. I actually enjoy this time once I am over the initial disorientation that comes with being awoken out of a deep sleep. This morning Abel was the first out of bed and snuggled right in beside me. He usually has a difficult time lying still and will either repeat how much he loves me or work on selecting the one gift that he wants most for his birthday (which is a couple of months away). This morning while trying to lie still, he noticed his own heart beating and said, "Mom...my heart is beeping...God must be trying to tell me something...but I don't know what it is."
